Under sunny skies, thousands of kinky and not so kinky people from around the world attended the famous, Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco. You never quite know what you will see there, but I found lots of famous and not so famous kinksters having a great day.
The Bay Area Chapter of Golden State Gay Rodeo Association (GSGRA) is a California 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable, and social organization that provides various support to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender community.
The focus of our chapter is to be an active part of the LGBTQ community through the hosting of fund-raising events to benefit local charities and to educate others on the country-western lifestyle through Rodeo, Dance Events, and Royalty.
Held at the rodeo grounds in beautiful Duncans Mills, CA on September 9 and 10, hundreds of fans showed up to cheer on the competitors and enjoy time with friends and family. For more information about the rodeo, events and the organization, go to their website.
“For Racial and Economic Justice” – The crowds were noticeably smaller than last year which actually made for a much more enjoyable experience. Last year, Marriage Equality became the law of the land, and everyone came out to celebrate. This year, the parade goers and marchers were just as enthusiastic, but after the tragedy in Orlando, some decided to stay away. I decided to march this year as an act of defiance. The slogan “Silence Equals Death” has new meaning now in the wake of so much gun violence.
Marching with the Leather Contingent was fantastic. We were near the front of the parade and there was lots of interaction between us and the crowds. Many folks wanted a picture with us or wanted a slap on the ass with a flogger. Check out the photos!
Here is a short video from the Fisting/Fucking scene with Brian Bonds and Drew Sebastian. My apologies for the the poor video quality. I was only allowed to use my smartphone, but you get the idea of what went on. Enter SomeMen when prompted for the password. (NSFW)
I love Sonoma County Pride! Its small town pride at it’s best. Every spot on the parade route is a great seat. The parade is filled with lots of color, floats, marchers and local groups. And because its a small town, the parade is over in about an hour. Its also possible to actually find your friends and say hi to others you haven’t seen in awhile.
Everyone came out to celebrate “Equality Everywhere” and then enjoy a great festival afterwards at the Guerneville Lodge. There was some really great entertainment. The SF Gay Men’s Chorus sang and Bobby Jo Valentine performed as well! Happy Pride everyone! More photos here.
The San Francisco Gay Rodeo was held in Duncans Mills and Guerneville this year and was a great event. The Friday welcome pool party was full of hot cowboys, beautiful drag queens and folk who came for the rodeo events. The weekend was packed with parties, dances and rodeo events. It’s been a few years since I attended a gay rodeo, so it was a really special weekend seeing friends and watching the cowboys and cowgirls compete. I can’t wait for it to return next year! Here are more photos from rodeo.
Beers, Boys & Bondage at Mr-S-Leather this Saturday. Mr S has hired me to photograph their store party, so come by, have a beer, try on some gear and have your picture taken. You know you need a new profile pic!
The SF Grapplers were at the Mr S Locker Room Party giving a demo and anyone who wanted to wrestle could spar with one of the club members. It was a fun afternoon and the members are a great group of guys. Check out their web page and Facebook page for more information. To see more photos, click here.
